Re: Fake public comments to the FCC

Ajit Pai is a liar and always has been on this subject. A few weeks ago I read an article where someone used some analysis tools to dig into the distribution of comments in the FCC system, and once you strip away the several million form letters and blatant robot submissions, of the actual "organic"...

No, humans have an inherent need to be social.

And at some point, the robots will even be able to satisfy that (the Japanese are almost obsessed with developing AI/robots to do it).

All the extensions I used save for a couple that I can live without went webex, but I wasn't using that many to begin with because I regularly cleaned house of stuff I really didn't need. Took noscript about a week to finally get up and running on webex though which wasn't fun. 57 is definitely the ...

North Korea doesn't have anywhere near enough nukes to even begin to approach causing an apocalypse. They could destroy a city or two and kill millions, but that's pretty much it. Re: Heatsink…LED Question

I think its worth a try at least, because that is still a pretty sizable block of aluminum. Someone with the exact specs of the LEDs and the exact specs of the aluminum plate could probably calculate how well this would work. But again it all depends on how well you can dump the heat from the LED in...

Re: Heatsink…LED Question

Grand scheme of thermal conductivity of common bulk materials, aluminum is second best to copper. Adequate without being as heavy or soft as copper and it is easy to work with, so aluminum heat sinks are quite common actually. Now if only someone could get Diamond into the shape of a heat sink, its ...

Re: Heatsink…LED Question

The million dollar question is: How much of that 20w per LED is heat? A plate of aluminum that big could dissipate a fair chunk of heat, but if that 100-120w worth was ALL heat the plate will most definitely get very hot. The performance could be much better if it was a proper heatsink with fin stac...

Also worth noting that there is one more upgrade in the pipe: DOCSIS 3.1 Full Duplex, but that is probably the end of the line for significan...
