100 people? Nope. 1 person viewed this. Me. The others are all bots. ;)

Maybe you're reaching a bit with this one, but I suppose it could be a subtle in-house joke or something. Only way to know would be to ask whomever made the cinematics.

Re: Introducing 'Silent Fury', a D3 mod project

Don't forget to use the recommended command lines and 32-bit patch for best graphical quality. Aren't you able to get D3 running on a newer system?

Re: Introducing 'Silent Fury', a D3 mod project

FreeSpace doesn't have 6DOF movement like Descent, but the style of gameplay is quite similar. Silent Fury is just a mod for a game that wasn't really designed for it, so it pales in comparison - and naturally they are quite different in many ways. On the HUD there should be a message that says 'OPE...

Re: Introducing 'Silent Fury', a D3 mod project

Glad you liked it! To complete the final mission follow this: ( You need to shoot down the bombers coming out of the carrier. I think you get about 5 minutes to do it, after which the station takes too much damage and explodes. You may need to collect some extra weapons for this part, from the cache...

Re: Introducing 'Silent Fury', a D3 mod project

A fatal bug was found in the initial release which caused Silent Fury to crash on some systems (usually after loading the first level). This SHOULD be fixed now, simply download the installer again or place this hotfix in your Descent 3 folder: https://sectorgame.com/d3/downloads/files/SilentFury_ho...

Re: Introducing 'Silent Fury', a D3 mod project

The exe is just an installer, but I'm not sure if the level would work on Linux since it relies on some of the corrections made with the 32-bit patch (and it won't run smoothly on an old setup).
Still, you could try: https://sectorgame.com/d3/downloads/fil ... ntFury.zip

Re: Introducing 'Silent Fury', a D3 mod project

A small update: Work on the project was finished a few weeks ago, I'm just waiting on a few of the voice actors to finish their lines and then put the campaign through some additional checks - It looks like I'll be releasing it toward the end of this month. Here is a very brief clip: https://youtu.b...

Everyone goes through a 'phase'. Usually it involves dressing up as Power Rangers, or in my case, as Redshirt getting blasted by an exploding console.

Introducing 'Silent Fury', a D3 mod project

Introducing a 5-mission Descent 3 campaign set in the 'Hyperspace' universe, originally established in the multiplayer trilogy in 2003 and later in the 'Basewars' openworld environment in 2006. Back in 2009 I wanted to develop a single-player variation of Basewars with a storyline and customized mis...

Need voiceovers for D3 campaign

I'm currently finishing up working on a new Descent 3 single player campaign (well, technically a HYPERSPACE campaign for those familiar with it) and I have several parts that need voice work done. There are about 4-5 main parts with up to 100 lines of dialogue each, and about 10-15 smaller parts wi...

Don't forget to grab the modified 32-bit graphic patch if you're using a new computer. It will improve those horrid texture issues. Matt and the team did mention they have a new 1.5 build on the backburner that they *might* finish at some point. It supports D3 in Windowed mode (as seen on the livest...

You could try uploading it into the Unsorted folder - I'm not sure if a 1.8GB file will complete. The upload process is divided into chunks, so it should work, but I've never tested it. Maybe split it into a smaller set of 100MB archives? Or just unzip the folder and upload that. If that doesn't wor...

Over the holidays I put together a new website called Descent Files. It's basically a variation of my other site, FreeSpace Files. I experimented with something like this when working on Basewars (see the Doom Vulture missile). In the end I found it crashes the game too much and doesn't really have the desired effect. It can be done though.
