For the record, if you're talking about "system restore", I doubt you're in the clear just yet. There are quite a few bugs that infect restore points, for that very reason.

If it doesn't show up again, check disk management in compmgmt.msc to see if it shows up there. May be a case of windows not assigning it a drive letter, for some odd reason.

You may have to load special drivers for the sata controller. Go on the internet, and download them to a flash drive. Then load the drivers from the flash drive, when you go to install.

If the processor was made in the last five or six years, chances are good that it's 64-bit. That said, you'd be foolish to not go with a 64-bit OS these days. Windows 7 will be the final flavor that will have a 32-bit version.

Basically, it was similar to what's in use now for the default theme, but the middle was filled in with the same color blue that is used for text on here now.

If you're referring to hardware, the laptop hardware isn't half bad actually, especially with some of the newer series. You just need to install better driver...
