Linux can definately be unstable if you are using some kind of buggy driver. Solving this problem can be tricky. First you need to determine which one it is; then, you need to find an upgrade or replacement. Or, if whatever that driver's for is not important, simply stop using it. Unfortunately I'm ...

In D1x they fixed this, apparently by placing all the gunpoints a little more to the back of your ship, because now you can lay proxbombs through closed/locked doors. :-) Edit: nah, wait a sec. I think this was due to another \"bugfix\"; in the original D1 proxbombs would explode if you fi...

On most recent systems, /dev is a RAM-disk; it starts from scratch
at each boot and device files are created on-demand by a daemon
such as udev. So, manual tweaks to /dev are lost when the machine
shuts down or reboots.

Doing a Google search for \"udev\" will help you find out more.

There is a game called \"Narbacular Drop\" which uses this concept
and which you can download. It looks like Portal itself is just a
mini-game for Half life \"Episode Two\".

I was thinking... could a similar effect be created in D2X-XL by
combining a camera with a teleport? :-)

IMO only missiles that can't be dodged should be shootable.
They did this in Forsaken (although the missiles concerned were
not available in multiplayer).
