Re:
That's my point exactly; without an interpretation by a Muslim scholar (of course, even their scholars disagree on these things), it would be a mistake for me to make my own conclusions about what their scriptures mean. I've seen how badly Biblical scripture can be mis-interpreted by those who deci...

Since Roid seems to have copypasted Mona, which is a 2ch creation, that would explain the Japanese font. A lot of the characters used are Japanese, which is why it won't show up right on some folks' computers.

Theoretical Ideal Candidate - 100% John McCain - 72% Alan Keyes - 72% Newt Gingrich - 71% Mitt Romney - 68% Hm. Maybe I should check out John McCain more closely? It's too bad Colbert couldn't run. I have yet to meet a person who doesn't like him - conservative, liberal, etc. That's some serious cro...

I'd say the only exception to the very-intelligent trend here is the Japanese guy that comes by here every so often. But that's not really his fault, as he isn't fluent in English. Who the heck is this? Most of us are older, and have been on this forum and part of the Descent community a long time....

Even though I'm a guitarist, I love songs with good bass parts. I've never been a huge fan of show-off stuff, though - I tend to enjoy really melodic bass playing the most. Lots of progressive rock bands have had prominent bass parts, like Yes (this is a cover, but I chose it because you can clearly...

Scoring?
I'm playing through the single player campaign on D2X-XL, and the bonuses for each level seem to give me a random number in the billions or trillions, negative or positive. One level I'll have 8,755,468,732 points, and the next, -442,746,789,067. Is it supposed to be doing this?

Favorite Campaigns
Back in the good 'ol days of D2 gaming, Project Mandrill (Razor/Kyouryuu) and Entropy Experiment 2 (Luke Schneider?) were the ones to beat. What are your favorites?
I've been \"out\" of the Descent gaming loop for a while; have there been any good D2 campaigns made in the past few years?

I've only beaten D1 and D2 on Hotshot. I dunno if I'm good enough for Insane; I tried playing the first few levels of D2 on it a few days ago, and it was so unfun that I decided to replay it on Hotshot instead. I really want to beat D1 (or maybe the Vertigo missions, for the ultimate challenge) on I...

Mac + Joystick?
I finally got Descent II (D2X-XL) to run on my iBook, but how do I get my joystick (Sidewinder Precision Pro II) to work with it? I can't find any drivers and there doesn't appear to be any \"game devices\" control on OSX. Any ideas?

I've never understood how people have enough time to listen to dozens of gigs of music. Even worse, it's always shuffled! I almost always listen to whole albums - the way the artist intended for their music to be heard. Of course, some bands just don't craft very good albums, but I don't listen to t...

Re:
I think the Christian religion, as a whole, has done an incredibly POOR job of understanding their text, which led to many of those blunders in the first place. We don't so much need to "modernize" or "rationalize" (ie, ignore the text and replace it with modern ideals and then ...
