Re:
It's kind of sad, in a way. In history, we are always taught about how colonists threw riots and fought and died over taxes. Now people actually support tax increases. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the issue was not simply the amount of taxes they were paying or that they were payin taxes at all. It...

Hmmmm. I don't ever remember having to do that. Anytime I have ever had to reformat or rebuild my machine, I always had the annoying little bubble for a month telling me to activate. I guess I got lucky (or the rules have changed). With one machine I think, after the 5th time of reformatting it, I h...

Call me crazy, but I think the authors numbers were trying to illustrate a difference of opinion that OUR society is having about the cost of war in terms of lives as compared to the cost of domestic society with the same metric, (obviously from a conservative point of view or spin if you will). I d...

Re: Something to think about
There were 39 combat related killings in Iraq in January. In the fair city of Detroit there were 35 murders in the month of January. That's just one American city, about as deadly as the entire war-torn country of Iraq So the hundred or-so Iraqi's that die every day aren't really human beings? LOL ...

LOL....obsessed with annexing Canada. It was just a funny. Besides, why would we want to annex Canada? I mean, we would need a REALLY good reason like say..... shoring up our borders to reduce the amount of terrorists or illegals that are getting into our country or reducing the cost of our ever gro...

Well it all started when the extremely overated, but highly talented Ohio State football team of this past season tore through the Big 10 like a hot knife through butter and went undefeated to be ranked #1 prior to the national championship game earlier this year. Now, to their credit, Ohio State di...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you need to be careful when looking at the response time of the monitor that is listed from the manufacturer as it can be subjective (ie black to black, grey to grey).I think it is the grey to grey reference that is the true reference...... The manufacturer can put one o...

I got an iPod for Xmas last year and it works great. I did spend about 3-4 days burning all of my cds into mp3 (11 gigs worth along with all of the album art), but that wasn't an issue with the player as much the condition of the media's original format. I haven't checked out any other player, but I...

The thing I am noting about the difference between the agendas pushed on children is, in islamic culture, a great deal of what is passed about not liking jewish people or western culture is commonplace, where in the west it is not. You would be hard pressed to find a school where hate is preached to...

Who was fingerpointing? I was merely drawing attention to that particular point to solicit opinion on instilling hate in children. I didn't say that doesn't happen here, just that it was happening there. I don't remember seeing any programs on western television where they were on NBC asking 4 year ...

I just like the fact that he isn't trying to mask his editorials in anything other than what they are and that is a projection of his opinion, not some fact that everyone MUST agree with. And the material in this show was fairly revealing regardless of what political prism you are looking through. I...

Not sure what you mean. I like the way he started the program. He told you up front that he is not a journalist, he is a conservative, and that the program was not going to be balanced. We don't get that enough (read: at all) from editorial television (Lou Snobbs, Jagged Pill O'reilly hint hint). Wh...

Extremist Islam
Tonight (15 Nov) on CNN Headline News at 7pm and 9pm eastern, there will be a show during the Glenn Beck spot showing a bunch of stuff from the Extremist Islamic point of view; television clips only shown on non-western television, blah blah blah. I invite all of you to watch and then discuss afterw...

A lot of airplanes use a cambered airfoil to generate the lift they need. Take all of your smaller light civil aircraft (ie Cessna-172, or a glider for that matter). These planes do not create a lot of airspeed and rely on this principle a lot. There are just trade offs that occur depending on size,...

Re:
Once the plane is at cruising altitude, and flying at a much higher speed, less angle of attack is needed and Bernoulli's principle becomes more important than angle of attack. Bettina Actually, a lot of large planes have a neutral camber on their wings and use angle of attack almost exclusively. N...
