Re: "Little Orbit update!!!"

The reason I contributed in the first place was because I wanted a new Descent game, but this is not Descent. And I specifically wanted a SP campaign, which is not included in the game as far as I can tell. It's by people who tried hard to make it Descent, so I think it could be close enough. They ...

Re: If my username was Alphadog this would be my avatar

My Bernese Mountain Dog used to eat his poop. Only time I saw him abstain was when he did it in our neighbor's yard and the neighbor's dog was out with him. It was like they were mutually admiring it or something.

Anyway, awesome photo!

Remembering my 17th birthday

Half my life ago tonight I was enjoying my freshly unwrapped first Windows (3.11) computer--a 100 MHz Pentium w 32 MB of RAM and 1.2 GB hard drive. I had saved up $4000 from paper route and McDonald's pay to get it, and the satisfaction culminated that night. It also ran DOS 6.22 and my best friend ...

Happy Halloween from Pac-Man

Had the idea to do a 30-year anniversary tribute to Pac-Man this year. Then I found out it it's actually been 31 years. Then I ran out of time for the other 2 ghosts. Then I couldn't find blue cellophane. But at least the 8-bit fidelity is there! http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z95/sedwick1024/Ca...

Re: Best RAM arrangement?

UPDATE! I finally got around to installing the new SIMMs, and I wish I had done it months ago. There is far less disk activity, programs switch, load, and shut down faster. I forgot what it was like to go into standby in 4 seconds! I went with the 1GB then 512MB in each bank. I've also read some thi...

Best RAM arrangement?

I'll soon be adding two 1GB DDR2 modules to my 3-year-old system's existing gig, which split across two 512MB modules. I currently have one 512MB module in the first of two slots in each of two channels. For the best performance from Windows XP, should I put both new 1GB modules in the first channel...
