Benchmarking a network
Hi everyone Anyone here know of any good tools that can be used to benchmark throughput on any given LAN? I'd like to run a few tests on some of the equipment I have to see if maybe one of my cables is bad or something. Any suggestion? Ideal program would just be something that uses UDP and transmit...

Fine then. The update is this: Ive swapped out the drivers for the latest I could find and so far I dont know. It might be fixed, it might not. As Ive said, it never occured just after a startup. It might not start for a few days even. But what I'd like to know is what else might be causing this. Th...

I'd listen to it if it was broadcast around here. And whats the problem with a Liberal talk show to counter the Conservative stuff thats already dominating daytime talk radio? All I can see from you is an irrational raging hatred of those who have a more left-wing view of things. Rush Limbaugh is a ...

If youre going to upgrade from a k6/2 to an athlon XP youre gonna need a whole new motherboard, heatsink/fan, and ram. You cant just stick that kind of a cpu on to a socket 7 motherboard. You might as well just build a whole new system. ll the new hardware youll need would be too much of a hassel. P...

Network Conection Status Not Autorefreshing in Win2k
This is perhaps the most bizzare malfunction I have ever seen in windows. I recently re-installed windows 2000 professional on my laptop. This is the third install of win2k in its lifetime. Well, anyway, you know how the status of LAN adaptors is generally promptly autodetected and reported? (Local ...

Re: MD and his lower GI Series
your Thread closing comments require you to pull the stick out of your @$$ Luv ya! sexy! I agree with MD's actions, particularly with that spam thread. I also think MD is one of the more capable and fair mods to hold dominion over the PTMC cafe. Anyone remember when RICAN was a mod there? I do. And...

Well supposedly this access point from Dlink can connect to any other access point as a client and bridge that way, or it can be forced to connect by mac address, which will be helpful. The AP in question is the DWL-7100AP, its a Tri-Mode, Dual band device, which will really help later on when I use...

I want it to be able to act as a bridge, yes. We have access points set up on campus, however, they are crash prone, so I will be connecting this bridge/AP to the one AP around here that actually stays up all the time so that my computers can have internet connectivity all the time. After I move out...
