When I was building my new computer, after I had hooked everything up it refused ot turn on. Just a half spin like you were describing after I physically switched the PSU on (on-off switch at the back of the PSU where its exposed to the outside of the case). My room mate then did the only helpful th...

Wireless Access Point Reccomendations...
I've decided to get an 802.11b/g access point. I need the access point to be multi-function capable. Mainly, it needs to be able to act as a bridge as well as an access point. (Currently I am in a Dorm Building that has Access Points set up, I need this device to be able to bridge to an ethernet net...

It wouldnt really need an option in the BIOS if it was on its own self-Contained PCI card, right? Anyway, I'm actually looking at a different solution. What kind of speed can an ISA 10/100 Pull? I'm thinking of getting a multi-mode Access Point that can function as a bridge (see other thread, commen...

I currently have a 12Gig HDD in my 450, a 30 gig in my 450, a 40Gig in my laptop, and a 120 gig in my newest comp. I'm going to be adding a 250gig to it soon as I'm getting pressed for space with all the TV I've bene capturing lately. The next comp I build will be designed to break the 1TB barrier. :D

Basically this is the chineese saying that they paid too much for something that they were getting for free. It sucks that bad. Nix is really starting to take off. Heck, even I've got a nix install now (granted, its a virtual machine for me to tinker with until I find a suitable box to actually put ...

Well, the comp is reportedly an HP C110. As for the 10base card with two slots, that wouldnt be a problem, as I have a 10/100 PCI at my disposal, as well as a few ISA 10BaseT's. What I want USB for is the versatility in networking devices. Specifically, I want to be able to have two NIC's, a wireles...

Is this even possible?
I might be picking up an old, old, OLD P-120 sometime soon. It has only one PCI slot and two ISA slots. In order to make it useable as say, a router, I'm thinking of putting a USB 2.0 Card in it so I could connect USB Wireless and 10/100 Devices. Would it be able to use a USB 2.0 Card effectivly if ...

What that ammendment means is that congress cannot vote itself a raise and have it take effect immediately. They can vote the next congress a pay raise. I suppose what that ammendment was intended for was so that if some congressmen gave themselves a raise, that they could be voted out of office for...

Tearing is really only an issue with V-Sync off when the FPS rate is low. Once FPS exceed the refresh rate there is no visible tearing and no point in V-Syncing. Wrong wrong WRONG!!!!!! If you start to exceed your monitors refresh rate in FPS (say, 140 FPS @ 85Hz Refresh) You WILL start to get some...

I currently have a belkin 4 port KVM switch that I'm very happy with. Make sure you get decent monitor cables to go with it. DO NOT get those thin, cheap $5 VGA extension cables, otherwise you wont be able to do much in high res cause of signal degradation. If you get a belkin switch, you might wann...

Theres nothing wrong with getting the knowlege spread. Whats wrong is that theres no realistic way of getting either house to cut its own benifits or pay. What would essentially have to be done in every state is a grass-roots petition movement to get something on a state-level ballot at election tim...
