Yeah, the second ambush wasn't in the original plan but I added it because the first two didn't feel dangerous enough to make you fear the exit run.
Putting it in its particular location is a no brainer if you're a cat trying to ambush humans. :P

Maximum's got a few tricky parts, cause the geometry is a lot tighter than D2's. I remember a couple of the bosses posing a bigger threat in particular. Shroudeye - When I switch PIGs on a level that has more than one cube DLE sometimes crashes. It happens much more often when I set the custom "descent.pig". Hmm... X did you ever see how Descent Maximum did their secret maps? (3 and 4 are, I think, the particular ones I'm thinking of.) If you don't want to go whole hog on D1 secret levels yet designing one in a similar way to that could be a decent compromise.

Yeah, I'd like to see it playable in XL as well. The only thing that really would need "porting" would be the hires D1 textures and sounds, at least as it stands now, everything else is still compatible. That last point was more to the effect that say, holding off on class 1 platforms until saturn made them feel more like the PTMC actually built them to serve some purpose on operations further out into the solar system. They're weak so there's no reason the virus itself would have put them there so ...

Just throwing this out there -- Saving some of the weaker enemies for later in the mission is a good way to create a sense of progression. That was one thing that helped D1 feel, back in the day, like you were actually trekking across the planets and moons of the solar system instead of just sniffin...

Yeah, LW... saying you "got bored" with any part of the design is not a good way to gain our confidence considering your history.
And don't worry X... that folder only has two or three of the five songs I've lined up, and Alex still will have no idea *which ones they are*! :D

Well, I don't really want to give away the music just yet. I can tell you there are songs from myself, Isaac, Martin, and D2disciple in the first 5 maps and two of them are lyrical.

Was never a fan of the FF7 music in LL, it just never seems to fit in as well as it does in its own game which makes it feel tacked on.

BTW I really do think Circularis should use the Descent 1 level 4 song. The song's circular theme meshes perfectly with the map's.
If the Descent 2 map 1 song has to be used at all (which it does :P) it should go on a Baloris map with a light colour scheme like KG's.
