Yeah I'd give it a download to see if it worked too. Never got the installer to work on any of my systems, but, that doesn't necessarily mean the programs wouldn't.

Never overestimate Trainee players. Skill generally scales up with difficulty level but it's not necessarily the same in reverse. When you get down to Trainee especially people are probably playing it for a reason.

Aaah, useful stuff! Don't know if the two playlists would still be toggleable from within Rebirth though.

IIRC it was all high level stuff like descriptions of what a weapon did or what to watch out for when facing a certain bot.
Don't recall seeing damage/health tables or anything like that.

Yes, I did notice the trigger that opens the secret door to the teleporter. And adding 448, 1 to the reactor triggers seemed to work just fine. I'll be careful if I have to adjust anything in the map down the road then; I don't know what was causing my copy of DLE to remove that or if it still would.

Yeah, the second ambush wasn't in the original plan but I added it because the first two didn't feel dangerous enough to make you fear the exit run.
Putting it in its particular location is a no brainer if you're a cat trying to ambush humans. :P

Maximum's got a few tricky parts, cause the geometry is a lot tighter than D2's. I remember a couple of the bosses posing a bigger threat in particular. Shroudeye - When I switch PIGs on a level that has more than one cube DLE sometimes crashes. It happens much more often when I set the custom "descent.pig". Hmm... X did you ever see how Descent Maximum did their secret maps? (3 and 4 are, I think, the particular ones I'm thinking of.) If you don't want to go whole hog on D1 secret levels yet designing one in a similar way to that could be a decent compromise.

That last point was more to the effect that say, holding off on class 1 platforms until saturn made them feel more like the PTMC actually built them to serve some purpose on operations further out into the solar system. Just throwing this out there -- Saving some of the weaker enemies for later in the mission is a good way to create a sense of progression. Well, I don't really want to give away the music just yet. I can tell you there are songs from myself, Isaac, Martin, and D2disciple in the first 5 maps and two of them are lyrical.

Was never a fan of the FF7 music in LL, it just never seems to fit in as well as it does in its own game which makes it feel tacked on.

There's a similar situation that can sometimes happen in level 17 of Descent 2 proper.
