John Carmack is a genius, and I am currently drooling on my keyboard.

The detail there is just incredible; that engine in real-time looks considerably better than early pre-rendered CG movies.

The best part of D2: Maximum for me was new boss rooms. The levels are pretty simplistic, though maybe I should go back and redo it on Insane like you just for the challenge.

The biggest problem for me going out into the fray is homers (of course), but those moronic, pervasive pigs (aka Class 1 Driller) don't make life easy either. By the time my homer hits them, I've already lost 33-50 shield.

Yeah, unfortunately that's just not enough processor or graphics card power to run it through WINE. If we ever do get the Linux version files, that would be a different story, though. You still won't get great performance, I'm guessing, but probably something tolerable.

At the least, this sort of training would get people who would never think of sliding, rolling, etc., used to the idea of using all controls available. It think it's a good idea, though as Strife said, trichording would be a good addition.
