the problems with games locking up had nothing to do with the agp speed(altho i did try it in the past along with setting agp 8x down to 4x..) it is hardware raid(onboard), and not software raid. In win xp you have to convert the disks to dynamic disks in order to get any kind of good peformance, its been a winxp bug since it came out. and im doing raid 0(stripe)

ok, how is it my bad luck??? Check rage3d.com's catalist bug report section and you will see threads where most 9700 users have these same exact bugs, NOT 9800 users.... Frosty, d3d has a bug in descent 3 and will always skip, this is why i wont even think of playing with d3d(besides the 20% fps drop) I believe Kevin said it had something to do with the way dx6 read textures poorly and more then likey wont ever be fixed in d3(as this problem still exists in the beta...

I play with vsync on at all times, this is one of the reasons i hate my ati card. they are always breaking some part of it... Anyway, v-sync is very nice to turn on as long as your framerate stays ABOVE your refresh rate. My min framerate when i run a timetest is 135fps, so i play at 1024x768 at 100...

to see the pauses, vsync has to be enabled..... are you sure your playing those game with it turned on???? Most people turn it off and leave it off in every game.

well, if you beef is the min framerate, It is mostlikely caused by the poor opengl drivers that ati makes... sorry but radeons are slower at rendering d3.... drop a napalm missle and watch how low your framerate goes... it will still probably drop as low as it did on your previous system, even with ...

That is dam good figuring that you have sound playing!!! Most people get higher scores by turning off the sound.
Also, your high overclock wont really speed up d3 any, it's dependant mostly on your cpu speed.
