3 days ago BigJ (One of the modelers assisting me) presented this level, which he had kept from me for about 3 weeks. I hadn't seen him on IRC for ages, and thought he had given up on the project. Then Bang! Here is a level for you...... He's told me now that he's also working on another one (traini...

Been ages since I let you guys know what was happening with this project here. So let me get you up to speed: There have been literally millions of changes, from new bots to improved framerate, and even a proper level. It even has the base for a highscores system I have set up a new website with for...

Hehe, crayon physics. One of the games that was on the school network for years before they found it. Along with numpty physics (I can be blamed for introducing that one though)

Re: Cold wave
Yeah, snow is a bit overrated, but you have to admit it is cool until you start not being able to open doors. If you want to know 100 feet is 30.48 meters, and I doubt that that will fall here in New Zealand for at least the next thousand years or so. Made a snow-penguin, I'll see if I can post a ph...

Yep, the sheep got it.... (Or some of them at least. When you go biking through farmland after a snow storm you can see it) December? Almost Christmas, only another 6 months or so, but the snow is already here! I've been out and about, on a toboggan made from two scavenged ski's. Remind me: 1) Not t...

Re: Gameplay Video now available
Ah ha Instead of recording at 25 fps, If I record at 20 fps then I get 20fps out of the game to, that might help. It takes 70% of this laptops CPU to record at 25 FPS or 50% to record at 20. Who knows why there is such a big difference? The game itself uses just over 50% Anyway, the next one should ...

I think I could improve it more if I could select a bit of the screen, rather than just from the top right. I'm using ffmpeg (Linux) so if you have any experience with that let me know.
Otherwise yes, I may have to get out the good old camera

Re: Gameplay Video now available
Unfortunatly I can't do any better than that sort of buying a new computer.....
Thing is that the computer is spending it's time capturing 25 fps video, and forgetting to run the game. So while the video is 25 fps, the game is only running at 10 or so.
I'll see if I can do better at the next one.

Wouldn't surprise me actually.
The most popular game for my friends at the moment is "curveball" like 3D pong, and "Tetris"
It seems that the old arcade games are making a comeback on the web!

Classical music doesn't go down to bass????
Yes it does, try listening to Pachelbels Cannon with little bass and you'll miss the whole point of it.

Ouch. I didn't know that, so thanks for alerting me to it. It is also the name of a virus!!! It was just the only thing I co...

Re: Can you steal something that's free?
It's all about copying rights. If you buy an mp3 for 99 cents, you're paying for the right to listen to it, not to copy it. Being able to listen to music for free is no different if they haven't given you any copying rights. A lot of software is also free but not redistributable. Note that sometime...

Don't get me wrong, I haven't stolen anything.
Youtube is free.
You can go on there any time and listen to any music for zero extra cost.
So it's free, right?
Can you steal something that's free?
Well, no, because it's free.
So how about downloading 'illegal' music from youtube???

I'm still using 10:04 and have been happy with it. I am very hesitant to change to 11:04 for the following reason: They have changed from a windows stile menu to a much less user friendly (for a developer) iconned sidebar menu. It becomes a pain to find any rarely used application. It also has no ta...

I was searching around on google for other 6DOF games, and found the normal selection:
Descent
Freespace
Minerwars
and so on
I then came across a rather odd little 6DOF game called Arc Aether.
Maybe I should let you have a look

Nav area background
Note:
all the links should work except the irc one. I still need to make that page properly....

Well, as part of my game project, I have made myself a website. Due to running Linux I can't try it on what ~90% (I think?) of the web population uses: Internet Explorer. Anyone feel like testing it for me? Known issues: Firefox: Image map has issues. Top link works, but others don't seem to Epiphan...
