Re: Loud snap sound from voltage regulator/stabilizer?

Sorry for the bump and double posting, but there's no word about this? I've also asked this on other communities and I didn't got any reply (perhaps this is not a serious problem after all?). Note that yesterday I used the computer and my stereo connected to the regulator for about 4 hours almoust s...

Re: Fan splitter safe to use?

In the end I decided to connect the top fan directly to the PSU through Molex connector. First of all, it's a big 200mm Cooler Master fan so it's pretty silent, and as it's a 3-pin one, so with Molex I get the full light brightness of the red LEDs and even if it's running at full speed, with it and ...

Loud snap sound from voltage regulator/stabilizer?

So I got this weird experience. I was using my computer while listening to music on a more or less powerful stereo. Although I'm not completely sure due to the loud music, I think I heard some loud snap suddenly, but not completely sure if it came from the voltage regulator where I got my equipment ...

Fan splitter safe to use?

So that's my question. I have a case that uses 4 case fans, but my Mobo only has 3 case fan headers. I already got planned a 3 fans layout (front, top and rear), just ordered the needed fans, but I noticed I will end with a spare fan, so I would like to see if it's possible to put it on the side, pr...

Re: Force a cold start after playing several levels

Indeed, Alter's idea may be the best approach! Some years ago I thought about some kind of hub (as you can see here: http://descent2.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=596&p=26672&hilit=hub#p26672), but it was too complex and too hard to implement, so I had to cancel it. I like Alter's concept...

Re: Force a cold start after playing several levels

That was the original idea, but then I found a problem. I want it to use all of Pumo Mines assets for that episode, and if I break it up in another mission, that means you would need to have another copy of the Pumo Mines mod folder for that other mission, and as for now and even if I haven't finish...

Re: Force a cold start after playing several levels

Ok, will sent you a PM with more details. What I can say for everyone here is that it's because I need to define 'episodes' during the mission, so you start at the middle of the story as if you were starting a new game, to continue the mission as if you were on level 1 once more. To TRUEpiiiicness: ...

Force a cold start after playing several levels

Hi everyone. After some thoughts, I realized that for a section of my Pumo Mines mission to work, it would be desired to force the player to advance to the next level without his/her collected weapons. That means that the player should realize a cold start for a better flow of the mission (for both ...

Ok, just finished the mission. Design-wise, it's EXCELLENT, the level layouts are made in a truly masterful manner, specially taking in account D2 limits. However, and although I truly loved most of the mission, from level 22 up to the end, I found it somewhat more frustrating than fun (specially wi...

Done, and found some pretty interesting stuff! It seems that it doesn't matter how much do you have, after you die you only spew 3 Smarts, 3 Megas and 3 Shakers Now that I look at it, I think I might recall this behaviour from the days when I was a tester for D2X-XL and paid attention to every singl...

There's some penalty on missile count after respawning?

Since some years I always had this doubt, and now while I was playing Plutonian Shores it bugged me again. I'm up to level 27, and I'm mostly sure that I started the level with 4 shaker missiles. Died several times, and everytime I respawned I went to gather my powerups. However, I noticed my Shaker...

UEFI risks: Could the mobo get bricked due to an OS fail?

So, I know UEFI is the successor of BIOS, and that BIOS days are counted, as it seems it won't be used anymore from 2020. But there are still some aspects of UEFI that makes me a bit nervous, specially when using Secure and Fast Boot. I was thinking: What would happen to an UEFI motherboard, if a Wi...

Sadly, there are no other classic D1/D2 campaign levels on there (or at least not that I'm aware of) :(
