You should search lunatomb for other recent good levels. Oddly they haven't been posted on here.

Re: What is everyone's most annoying\hated bot in all of descent 1/2/custom missions?

Isn't WASP in Lost Levels without mod just a Seeker that fires one extra Merc per volley? IDR hatred...maybe because it is used more, but I don't know. Some of the most extreme robots - like ones that fire Megas (C4HD/Warlord/LL MAX) - I've never seen done in snipe mode (except for one boss, but it ...

Re: What is everyone's most annoying\hated bot in all of descent 1/2/custom missions?

Even with this most evil robot of all, there is no point you can't strategically handle one. Hard, yes - VERY HARD - and as unforgiving as they come - but it is not impossible at any point even on high difficulty. Know where they are, eliminate with utmost priority and caution levels.

Re: What is everyone's most annoying\hated bot in all of descent 1/2/custom missions?

Yeah, the IDR...but the C4HD is even more deadly if you can't snipe it safely.

And if the MAX in Vertigo is bad, try the one in Lost Levels WITHOUT custom weapons enabled. Now that would be the real contender for most dangerous non-boss ever!

Re: Do you enjoy Counterstrike or Vertigo more?

Well as for that last point, 20 medium size levels isn't that short, and I tend to not rate things down simply because of its length, unless it is unreasonably short or ridiculously long (i.e. too long for its own good). Insane might dull some of the repetition issue in CS, because it is much more i...

Re: Do you enjoy Counterstrike or Vertigo more?

D1 Mars did red fine; but D2 Brimspark took it out too far and too long. CS in general suffers badly compared to almost any other (decent) mission - official OR fanmade - in terms of keeping things fresh and varied between/within levels. Even other missions with themed units did not do it to this le...

Well technically you could argue if you prefer one half the time and the other half the time, that's a form of tie, albeit an unusual one.

The other thread (in Level Spotlight) can be closed or deleted if desired.

Re: Do you enjoy Counterstrike or Vertigo more?

I don't like any of the new robots, either in a appearance or behavior--they look ugly, most of them do the same things other robots already did (do we really need another lifter?). and they tend to have way too many HP, making them tedious to clear out. So I'm torn. You can delete the 'z' from the...

Well I'm not playing D2's original ATM, but did change all the musics for Vertigo, mostly using tracks from old missions that seem reasonably fitting. D2 should have had more and better music.

I really liked the music choices from a glance at least...doing non-midi and just playing it in the background is a creative idea IMO. :) And it's well-credited too, so you know what the source is! No hunting around necessary.

Re: Multi-robot bosses - how do they work?

Entropy 2 Level 3 must be disguise of either fire or ice boss, as it is only vulnerable to matter. But I think it moves like AF Level 3 boss (which is disguise of D1 Medium Lifter!), does not teleport (like any robot with invulnerabilities normally will).

@Sirius You mention 'challenging in co-op but beatable', yet clearly the mission IS beatable in single player too (save Level 12 coldstart), just VERY challenging, and probably still quite hard even on continuous and with deaths allowed (as long as not 'game over', of course). Beating AF on Insane with few saves in incredibly impressive, IMO, no matter how many attempts. And definitely a lot of good endurance! :) It surprised me too when I first heard Levels 2 and 3 are most evil, usually a mission only gets harder as you go further. Some of the absolutely craziest weather whiplash I've seen even for the standards of where I live: A week ago, it was no higher than -11C all day, -20C at night. As for warm and dry winters, it looks like some cold did come into the PNW in 2013/14. But 2014/15 was record warm. Both were quite cold winters in the Eastern USA, however. 2015/16 was very warm by February 2016 in the PNW though February 2015 was warmer still. I definitely saw the drought stretchi...

Southern California has been ridiculously hot lately with destructive fires (like Thomas). Last winter though you had beneficial rain for the long term drought. Yeah that Eastern North America cold snap was a big one. 2014 and early 2015 had them even more frequently. It was hard for me to believe at the time that the whole globe was burning up heat records! Global warning is serious and cold spells don't disprove it. The globe as a whole had record heat recently THREE years in a row from 2014-2016, and these records were not broken, they were smashed.
