I want to see all the D1 levels rebuilt for D2X-XL like \"Lunar Outpost Reloaded\"... that would be an awesome mission.

And then do the D2 levels... and the Vertigo Series...

Yeah, this is never going to happen, but I can dream...[size]

I believe the \"boss type\" also control which weapons can damage the boss... i.e. if you set it to \"Fire Boss\" or \"Ice Boss\", it will only be vunerable to matter weapons. So if you were going to do it this way, you'd probably want the boss type to be \"Red Fat...

Re:

Levels should be shorter and have no puzzles and robots take less hits to explode. I like the large levels... and although I agree that there were too many puzzles, I don't think they should all go. I like a challenge, as long as it isn't insanely hard. As for the robots, I think a robot being kill...

Just remember that the player is going to advance to the next level if they die on the secret level... they won't be able to go back to get their powerups. For this reason the first few secret levels shouldn't be too hard. The difficulty can spike on the D2 style ones though, because the player will...

Just a warning: DTX 2 has been known to cause problems with midi music (a ton of game crashes... it messes up even XL). I've heard that MID2HMP works better, but it's command line and I've never figured out how to use it.

Sorry for the bump, but...

Interplay turned the difficulty of the level 7 boss down in the first patch, I've heard. This is because players kept complaining it was too hard. I believe you could download a save game at the beginning of level 8 from their website as well.

Ice boss theme music - \"Shadow Play\"

The D2 Ice Boss... most annoying... most hated... hardest boss... I'd have to say this is the most memorable robot in Descent. I never liked level 20 of vertigo or level 24 of counterstrike. They were too boss-centric and not creative.

Imo D3 Retribution level 15 was the only good \"official\" final boss level.

BTW - in the D3 demo level, I believe you're playing as the vertigo series pilot again.

Oooooooooh. WarPig Bots so ruined that game. Whenever I was fighting anyone, he came in with his ridiculously low ping and MD'd me to death. He consistently typekilled me. I don't know if he did it to everyone, but I will not rest until I have utterly demolished him 1 on 1.

I use the Phoenix and I'm good with it... EMD is by far the best primary in the Phoenix. Dodging your opponents shots will naturally create a wall of fire homing on your opponent that will be very hard for him/her to dodge.
