Re:

I find it funny that a race who's mastered transportation is technologically matched by one that hasn't. It doesn't make sense. I find your lack of faith in the force disturbing. A Sith Lord could take out the captain of the Enterprise (or anyone else on the ship) at will. Good luck giving commands...

Ok, I don't know much about Star Trek, but I think your claim that the Enterprise could withstand the Death Star's super-laser is pretty absurd. However... It would be neat to debate the merits of the Enterprise against a similar type ship from the Star Wars universe. But before we can even do that,...

...Luke Schneider submitted some of his early Descent levels to the Anniversary Edition contest. It was these three: Demon Bridge Outpost Death Super Station ...and none of them won any merit at all in the contest! I couldn't believe it. Those are some to best levels in that whole 150 piece package.

I think new users should be restricted to a single hidden forum section. Once they make 10 posts with out getting banned they rank up to the normal cadet status, and can use the forum like everyone else. :o Booo! If that were the case then you would have missed out on this contribution to your thre...

I might have to emphasize the incorrect alignment, by slightly rotating a few of the tiles. I felt the same way as Xamindar, but I thought the misalignment was intentional. I think the brain naturally wants to align the colors to a grid, because our experience dictates that. Perhaps a "broken ...

Cool Pyro man; took me a second to see it (had to squint a little)

Here's another. Kind of makes me want to see Descent as an old school side-scroller.

The only thing I'm wishing for is a way to sort all the missions by date when I'm browsing through them. I think the DMDB kicks ass! I asked the site's author about search filters and he said it's on his list of things to do when he gets time. I look forward to that day, seeing as I'll probably be ...

I thought so to, until the story took a crap half-way through. And the lightcycles sucked. But man, did that game look cool.

This thread was very helpful to me. I've played Descent since '95 using the default keyboard layout. I recently started playing on a laptop and it was really awkward without a keypad to use. After reading this forum I decided to try different controls. My first attempt was using Joystick + Mouse, an...

I just played it. Cool. That center room (the mount) looked great, and so did some of the passages. I played it in D1X-Rebirth so I didn't get to see all the fancy lighting and stuff. Also, it made me want to install D2. :)

Thanks guys. Last night I started reconfiguring for KB+Mouse. It was pretty comfortable, but I'm thinking I might have to go KB+Stick or Stick+Mouse to fly like I imagine. It's difficult trying to unlearn 15 years of muscle memory. Once I feel comfortable flying again, I'll start looking into online...

This thread was somewhat encouraging. I've played Descent since it came out, but never multiplayer. Two reasons why: I never had a reliable Internet connection until just recently (believe it or not), and I never learned to play with a stick (I'm KB only). I knew I would suck in multiplayer and last...

Awesome. I'm downloading Kali right now. I've never played Descent online before, and I just got a copy of D1X-Rebirth. I hope someone wants to play. And I hope they can show me how to stay alive more than a few seconds.
