Re: Don't like just being a mediocre competitor?
Maybe it doesn't even make sense to have male versus female sports. If gender is on a spectrum, then how is it any different than height? Why not have an NBA for short people too?

It's funny how they thought that bot was cool enough to make the limited space of the advert but somehow was not cool enough to make the cut of the game.

Re: Don't like just being a mediocre competitor?
Well if you took some kind of height enhancing drugs…instead of it being completely natural… If you were born with your advantage, or worked real hard on it...I don't see a problem...that's what competition is all about. I agree, but in this case the drugs that she takes are performance inhibiting,...

Re: Don't like just being a mediocre competitor?
I suppose the ideal solution would be to, instead of having two categories, male and female, have four categories, male -> male, male -> female, female -> male, and female -> female, if not for the disproportionately small amount of people in male -> female and female -> male. It's strange how some ...

Republicans probably would have self-described themselves similarly after Obama was elected. In any case, if tolerance is something you really care about Thunderbunny, you could start by modifying some of your own behavior. But when people are intolerant, they always justify it with some excuse.

Have you watched the new Bill Nye series that just hit Netflix? Most of what he does on the show is fine, but some of it is laughable. Re: artificial intelligence assumptions
The term AI is currently used very broadly. In some problem domains, like writing an artificial opponent for tic-tac-toe, it might be a series of if's or rules. If you write a neural network that can tell the difference between a photo of a cat and a dog 80% of the time, many people would call that ...

The right to vote is a notable positive right (the government has to provide elections for you, has to count your vote, etc.). In truth though, I think that arguing negative versus positive rights is just arguing over semantics. Everyone agrees that one role of government is to provide national defe...

Sounds like a self-fulfilling prophecy if I ever heard one. It's worse than that because not only does the market fulfill its own prophecies, but it creates a feedback loop where people upon hearing that the prophecy is being fulfilled are further encouraged to invest in a way that will fulfill the...

Democrats aren't given a free pass either. For instance, for a long time they decried regime change and overseas interventions when it was a Republican in the White House, but when Hillary Clinton was championing it, most were silent on the issue. So did they really have strong feelings about regime...

I don't know why people were so stirred up by the recount. Unless you gave money, you didn't lose anything. Even Trump must have believed that there was a nontrivial chance of something being found in the recount or otherwise he wouldn't have spent so much time hedging against it.

I didn't vote for Clinton either, but because of her foreign policy. I don't understand the Republican "I hate dishonesty/corruption, so I'm voting for Trump" mantra though. It's a "smell of your own farts" kind of thing I suppose.

I early voted for Gary Johnson. I know he's neither as knowledgeable nor as experienced as Hillary Clinton, but Clinton is bellicose, and I have grave concerns about her foreign policy.
