Then again - Revelations might have as much to do with it as a Bolivian Unicyclists Jockstrap. Image

Approximately 3000 tonnes of space stuff arrives on Earth every single day. Most of it is smaller than a grain of sand - but many, many rocks do make it through the atmosphere.

Iran gets its share of meteorites (It's not an "ite" unless it hits the ground - "Meteors" burn up in the atmosphere) just like every other country on earth.

Even if the event is statistically unremarkable, I bet it's still unsettling for those in the area. First the earthquake, then the meteorite -- what's next?

BTW, the events of the Apocalypse refer to Babylon which is in Irag, not Iran (ie. Persia). But we do have: "I looked and He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake . . . And the stars of heaven fell to the earth." (6:12,13)

Yep, followed by 24 hour cable TV, that would just about doom them for good!
