Grendel #1n servers

Post by Grendel »

The Grendel #1n server seems to have a toast mainboard (power & reset switches are not working.) I do have a spare MB, but it'll take me a day or two to find the time to swap it in (assuming nothing else broke.)

Yes, this one is probably because of the location tho. Industrial setting w/o a UPS doig AVR .. :( (getting one later today..)

1st one were the V-converters giving out after running a Prescott P4 24/7 w/ 50% load for 1 year. Not sure what exactly broke in this one, I suspect at least the Winbond mini-I/O chip. Fortunately I got the board from the 1st incident replaced so I have a spare. I hope I'll get a RMA for this one as well, should keep me going for another 2 years at least :)
