Well, I can see the HOLLAND-servers in the descent cx-list, but they are not visable in KALI or Gamespy.
What could be wrong ? (I use D3 Hunters stuff).

that may be a port (or -forwarding-problem) because you are on the same IP...

Checkor, could you post the steps necessary for manual server launching? (The tracker file in Notepad)

Got it all visable now. Gamespy and Kali now also show my servers with pings. It doesnt work on my other computer, so it could be port problem.
Thx for the help.

Is there any information out there how to get non-dedicated servers to show up?

Here's a post I made last year:
http://www.kali.net/bbs/cgi-bin/YaBB/Ya ... 1059968415

It links to the tutorial I wrote 3 years ago:
http://www.planetdescent.com/site/dcip/ ... server.asp

Create a file called gamespy.cfg in your main Descent 3 directory with the following contents:

Code: Select all

 0
master0.gamespy.com:27900
 0
tracker.kali.net:22999
 0
tracker.descent.cx:27900
If you do that, any game you start, dedicated or not, will appear on all the trackers.

to be save add this to your commandline:

-gspyfile gamespy.cfg

and download this ready-to-use-file to be placed in the D3-root: www.descentforum.net/Do_Checkor/gamespy.cfg

(the country code for central europe "7" should be replaced with your's if you are non-europe. US = "0")

I'm not able to get my servers listed on the PD tracker for some reason. They are listed on the others though. Any ideas?

Would this work if I had D3 on a shared drive?

(I'm on a Mac, need to use Virtual PC)

Right now to get your severs to post on the PD tracker, you have to start Hunter's tool with "Parallax Online" selected, instead of "Direct TCP/IP.
The tool will then check to see if PXO is up, then revert to TCP/IP when no connection with PXO can be made.
Your server will then start TCP/IP and post on the PD tracker. :)

Ok, now I have the opposite problem. I'm able to get my game servers listed on PD (thanks for the tip on that one guys) but for some reason now all my games (Halo, D3, BF1942) that I run on my Seattle server will not list on the GameSpy trackers, not just the Descent3 games. I've checked the TCP/IP settings, verified the game is actually listening on the game tracker TCP/UDP port that was setup for it, and double checked the firewall settings. As far as I can tell nothing has really changed on the server or the firewall. I had this same problem one other time on the server I run in Detroit but it seems to fix it self because I don't remember changing any thing there either. Anyone have any suggestions?

Make sure when you config your server file that you check the "Allow Game Trackers" box :)

Current gamespy.spy (or similar) content for (US) server listing:

Code: Select all

gsm.qtracker.com:27900
 0
master0.gamespy.com:27900
 0
tracker.descent.cx:27900
 0
tsetsefly.de:27900
Thanks to Nosferatu for the heads up!
