WTB: Laptop for ~$100

Post by Top Wop »

Im looking to help relieve someone of a laptop that they may not be using anymore and collecting dust. Im not intending to play games on it, I just need basic mobile computing to do basic programming and automotive diagnostics. As long as it can hold a charge, has a CD drive, and I can one way or another do internet with it im game. Im looking to spend ~$100 or more if decent on a unit. PM/email me. Thank you!

I have an old one I'm not using any more. It works fine......except the power plug on the motherboard is broken so AC power is completely gone. :P

So I haven't been able to start it up sense the battery ran out.
Why doesn't it work?

What are the specs on that thing, and is that plug at least fixable?

Well, I'll pull it out some time and tell you what model it is....it's a Dell. I think it was 1.4ghz p4 so it overheats easily and then throttles down. I took it apart and tried to resolder the power connector without luck so I don't really know what broke. I just know it worked fine until the battery ran dry. It's probably only good to someone looking to replace their screen
Why doesn't it work?
