WTB - iPod or shuffle

Post by Topher »

I'm looking for one new or used, preferibly 20 gig or bigger, but I'll take what I can get. Would be nice if it wasn't about to run out of battery life, but I'd be willing to buy an old one at a discounted price assuming the $59 charge from Apple to replace the battery.

One of my friends got a hand-me-down 10GB iPod. As it was reaching the end of its 18-month battery life, he ran the iPod Updater to reflash the firmware. Part of this process includes plugging the iPod into the wall adapter. Doing so zapped the internal battery, allowing it to charge to 100% again.

As to whether or not this actually works, I cannot say, but it does seem to be corroborated. Might be something to keep in mind.
