follow up using D2X-XL on an iBook G3

Post by BrokenSword »

I thought to install the D2X-XL port of Descent now that I got it working on my iMac G5 (running Tiger), on my iBook G3 (dual USB, 500mhz). The game doesn't even start up and I get an error message. Looking at the data, it looks like the iBook (running 10.3.9) has undefined symbols. I'll put the report below and maybe someone can tell me if it's possible to play D2X-XL on the iBook.

Hope this helps.

I copied all the files as I have them on the G5 and put them onto the iBook while using a new dl of D2X-XL on the iBook.

I'd say that either your video card doesn't support the required OpenGL needed by D2X-XL. Or that you don't have the newest version (2.0 i think) installed. Don't take my word for it though as I'm not a mac user and don't fully know how it works. It's just a thought.
