remember the 'plan'?

Post by callmeslick »

.....you know, the Great Pumpkin's 'plan to defeat ISIS' that he didn't wish to share with the world? Well, based on his latest memorandum, the plan consists of ordering other people to figure one out in 30 days. <facepalm>

Thank goodness. Imagine he had a plan and would start acting it out...

that simplistic and ultimately fatal(for us) approach is pretty much my fear.

 You're kidding, right? So far, just about every one of his "edicts" has been rushed out in a hurry with hardly any forethought as to the actual details in those edicts. For example, the most recent immigrant ban and the resulting chaos at a whole slew of national airports and the "Mexico's going to pay for The Wall" BS quickly come to mind. He's essentially using a broom to paint the detail in a painting. I've got news for you. The American taxpayer is going to cough up the dough for that wall he said Mexico was going to pay for, either through tariffs and higher prices for goods from Mexico or some other tax out of our own larder.

If they are so rushed TC, how is it that the Union bosses are now in love with Trump? And they are the backbone of the Dem. Party.

Woody, you're mistaking the union members for the union bosses. Unfortunately, a lot of union members are going for Trump, and eventually to their own detriment. Plutocracies usually benefit the wealthy, not the worker.

The only plan I see the Orangutan with the bad hair show is advancing his personal interests.

Anyone remember when I said that you shouldn't elect a failed businessman into the presidency?

When Trump said the administration “just officially terminated TPP,” it prompted applause from the labor chiefs (and this time it certainly wasn't by paid members of the studio audience), who later described their meeting with Trump as "incredible."
But even more notable, was the dramatic pivot by the US labor unions, historically stalwart democrat supporters, who have suddenly emerged as big supporters of Trump policies, and perhaps no one more so than AFL-CIO President Rich Trumka who said TPP withdrawal is "a good first step toward building trade policies that benefit workers."

The following is a statement from Teamsters General President James P. Hoffa on President Donald Trump signing an executive order to formally withdraw the United States from the Trans Pacific Partnership.

“Today, President Trump made good on his campaign promise to withdraw the United States from the Trans-Pacific Partnership. With this decision, the president has taken the first step toward fixing 30 years of bad trade policies that have cost working Americans millions of good-paying jobs.

the Unions applauded the TPP thing, and that's how democracy works. To say they support Trump at the leadership level is just not true.

Right. Keep thinking that when 2020 comes near and the Dem candidate says how they will reinstate NAFTA and TPP. Think the union bosses will rush out to endorse them?

I wont disagree with what's been happening. The TPP was poison to the unions and Trump was the one who actually killed it, whereas Hillary might have double flip flopped and signed it anyway. Plus, unions will reap the benefits of infrastructure spending, but only IF Trump can find the funding. With all those tax cuts he wants, where's he going to get the money to pay for it?

However, those same unions are making a pact with the devil. Like slick commented on, what happens when Trump and Congress put forth a National Right to Work Bill? I seriously doubt they'll like that development one little bit. An example from Ohio a few years ago.

http://townhall.com/watchdog/ohio/2014/ ... nate-n6482
With Republicans likely to maintain supermajorities in the Ohio House and Ohio Senate, union bosses have been shoring up opposition to reforms — including worker freedom, which allows workers to opt out of paying union dues and fees.
