How bad can it get? *the donald trump megathread*

I figured, with all the crazy nonsense that's been happening, and all the threads popping up, it might be a good idea (and it could be funny) to put his shenanigans in one giant thread.

I'll start with this gem.

http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/ ... itics.html

And before the cries of "leftist propaganda/media" bla bla, here's another one confirming it.

What could go wrong.....

https://www.wired.com/story/trump-wants ... -go-wrong/

As of June 5th, 44 states were refusing to turn over ANY of the information. I hope they stick to their guns, especially since we've now seen how the Trump administration handles or abuses in this case, personal information. Welcome to 1984 and Big Brother. In this day and age, SS numbers, names, phone numbers and addresses posted on any publicly available database, or even a supposedly secure database (we know that's nearly impossible), can create a fraud nightmare that would be impossible for anyone to fix. That doesn't even address the potential abuse of that data, as we've already seen with Trump's actions. I'd like to hear from any conservative who thinks this is really bang up idea, a database of every voter in the country sitting on a White House server that can be accessed by the president. Think of a president who's not from your party sometime in the future.

It gets even weirder. When NASA announced that they had discovered water on Mars, things really got nutty on the right wing conspiracy side of things. They claimed it was all a left wing conspiracy of some sort having to do with NASA proving climate change and the recent release of the movie "The Martian".

http://www.newsweek.com/water-mars-cons ... oax-377975

Then more recently, we get this one from waaaaaay out in "right" field. I guess the one about how Hillary ran a child sex slave ring out of a pizza joint wasn't good enough. :P

http://www.salon.com/2017/06/30/nasa-de ... y-on-mars/

And these are the conspiracy theories Trump likes to peddle. Whether he believes in them or not is open to speculation.

Look carefully, folks. There is even worse failures mounting quietly. In response to the goofy assed Wall idea, Mexico cut a trade deal with Argentina, and another nation that effectively takes 14 billion dollars in purchases from US farmers off the table. Nice.
Oh, and all that winning?? Even Conservatives on Faux News are starting to whiff the stench of utter incompetence:

interesting little selected exchange, but is your point to distract from the thread topic?? Not really certain that you simply lack the cajones to create a thread about THIS item, or can't figure out a topic from the words in the OP. Which is it, Grendel?

Oooooh! Trump Jr., the gift that keeps on giving. Now a Russian real estate money launderer and bank fraudster was ALSO in that Trump Tower meeting with Junior. The eighth man Trump Jr. never listed during his "supposed" act of being transparent about the whole sordid thing.

Not worth to make it a separate thread IMHO.Thought it fits well w/ "How bad can it get?" and

Why limit it only to Trump ? There is LOTS of stupid out there.

Anyway, I'll keep it w/ the Don in the future.

Geezus, I'm waiting to see if either Sessions or Rosenstein just up and quit. How much Trump ragging can they take? Then I'm waiting to see if Trump fires Mueller, or tries to, because he's starting to delve into Trump's family business affairs, which was a red line Trump didn't want him to cross in that NY Times interview that just came out. It appears that his family and his business are more important to Trump than his duty to the people of the U.S. and the Constitution.

Now Trump's really getting nervous. He's now asking his lawyers about his ability to pardon and whether he can stop Mueller's investigation.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics ... story.html

That begs the next question. Can a sitting president be indicted for a crime? That very question came up years ago during Watergate, which was mulled over by SCOTUS. But according to the Constitution, a president can only be impeached by Congress.

I guess one of Trump's people DOES have a conscience and isn't a life long masochist. Spicer has really been ragged on by Trump all throughout his tenure. Even though Spicer is a devout Roman Catholic, Trump was cruel enough to not let him be in the inner circle of people who got to meet with Pope Francis when Trump visited the Vatican. He also apparently dislikes Trump's choice for communications director, which is the reason he gave for resigning.

It appears that Trump is taking an oust Sessions by trashing him move in a lengthy bid to eventually fire Mueller. Will he succeed?

https://www.usnews.com/news/politics/ar ... g-sessions

If he does, that fits with this theory of how Trump will be able to finally oust Mueller, by hiring a friendly AG who will be in his pocket and do all his bidding and thus set off a Constitutional crisis.

What's funny is that I don't think Trump actually told the military BEFOREHAND that he was going to issue this little edict to the press, judging from the reaction when the military brass were questioned about it by the AP. They angrily referred all future questions to the White House. Yet another case of Trump's mouth running off on it's own volition before talking to the actual agencies his little midnight edicts impact.

http://customwire.ap.org/dynamic/storie ... TE=DEFAULT
11 a.m.

The Pentagon, which appeared to be caught off-guard by Trump's tweets barring transgender people from the military, is referring all questions about them to the White House.

A Pentagon spokesman, Navy Capt. Jeff Davis, said in a brief written statement that the Pentagon is working with the White House to "address" what he calls "the new guidance" from the president on transgender individuals serving in the military.

Davis said the Pentagon will provide revised guidance to Defense Department officials "in the near future."

If the actual cost of transgender surgery was the real issue here, why in the hell didn't the DoD just reverse their earlier policy decision instead of alienating and discharging a whole subgroup of military men and women? Our military is already spread thin.

Oh, and the military pays out far more for Viagra pills than from all the trans surgeries combined.

Oh the unending crap leaking from the White House. Scaramucci's now whining about his financial disclosures being "leaked", which happens to be public record, birdbrain, that anyone can access if requested. He needs to understand that comes with the territory of being a public servant. So I'm guessing from the constant circus act we get out of this White House that he's "fake pissed" and now needs a "fake inquiry" to find a pre-selected fall guy that will make both him and Trump happy if fired. Watch out Reince Priebus.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/07/27/us/p ... stice.html

Never mind that he has a big conflict of interest that's now revealed in those statements. The PDF of Scaramucci's financial disclosure is in this link.

http://www.politico.com/story/2017/07/2 ... its-241006

Geezus, on yet another front, Trump can't even keep it civil or refrain from bragging when talking to even the Boys Scouts. What an example he's setting for our young, impressionable minds, to blast the free press as "fake news" and excoriate any and all opponents in any vile way possible, all while buffing and polishing his massive turd of an ego. Almost sounds like a carbon copy speech straight out of Hitler's mouth, except for the stupid parts.

I seem to recall back when congress was working on the ACA, some members suggested that it should be made so they had to actually use it themselves instead of the plan they were using which was (and still is) vastly superior to pretty much anything else on the marketplace. Because if they had to use it themselves they would actually put some effort into making it really work for all parties involved.

as I pointed out the other day, they essentially DO operate, in Congress, under the ACA. They merely have 1) access to a good option and 2) have the money to pick a good option. Want to make Congress pay attention to the real problem? Drop their salary to just above the Medicaid cutoff.

I'd go for that, but it wouldn't do any good. They don't rely on their congressional income anyway, which is still around $174,000 a year. Most of them have a net worth that generates so much income that even if we made them work for free, it wouldn't make any difference, for members of either party.

https://ballotpedia.org/Net_worth_of_Un ... sentatives

I also see that these bastards are still concerned about protecting their own butts in case of a nuclear war. I guess that they don't care that there won't be a country left to govern after the radioactive nightmare comes to fruition that today's nuclear weapons will leave for all of us lowly scum, as long as they're still alive in their little taxpayer funded tunnels and shelters like a bunch of rabbits. Given Trump's thin skin, the likely hood of a nuclear war with NK just went waaaay higher with his election to the presidency.

http://theweek.com/articles/714780/wash ... sday-plans

Speaking of Obamacare, on Jan. 20th, Trump signed his little vaguely worded EO that stated:
.....instructing federal agencies to waive or defer parts of Obamacare that would “impose a fiscal burden” on states, individuals or health care providers.
Kelly Ann Conway said that this order would help Trump get rid of the Obamacare mandate completely. But apparently, Trump is still enforcing the individual mandate despite his little Romper Room show of an EO signing that day. So come next April, will the mandate still be enforced since Obamacare is still the law of the land? If so, will Trump now ignore that EO as a twisted effort to piss off people who didn't by insurance this year because of it's high costs and who were counting on Trump's promise of a repeal?
