The dead vote for democrats...

Post by Nightshade »

...with this guy's help of course:
HARRISONBURG, Va. – A James Madison University student is heading to prison after he pleaded guilty to registering dead voters for the Democratic Party during the 2016 election.

Andrew Spieles, 21, received a 100-day prison sentence in federal court on Tuesday for falsifying 18 Virginia Voter Registration Forms that were submitted to the registrar’s office in Harrisonburg last August, WSET reports.

“On August 15, 2016, an employee of the Registrar’s Office contacted law enforcement after another employee in the office recognized a registration form submitted in the name of the deceased father of a Rockingham County Judge,” according to the Department of Justice. “The Registrar’s Office discovered multiple instances of similarly falsified forms when it reviewed additional registrations. Some were in the names of deceased individuals while others bore incorrect middle names, birth dates, and social security numbers.”

we estimated, when I was working elections in PA, that about two tenths of a percent of the votes were dead people voting 'absentee'. Both parties did it, but we never saw enough to tip a district even, just enough to wonder why someone was bothering. Few suspicious matters ever were even mentioned for prosecution, that I recall. Once again, you take a valid happenstance, actually being prosecuted, and somehow insinuating it to be a one-party issue. Frankly, the GOP are way ahead in absentee ballot fraud, the Dems get some extra dead votes in large cities. Once again, never a damn bit of evidence that a district was even flipped, but in a real close election, maybe......

Dead people who are still registered to vote is common problem, mostly due to clerical or bookkeeping errors by county clerks. That does not mean all those dead people actually voted or ended up as someone else's vote in an actual election fraud case. Sure it happens at times, but it's not enough to make much of a difference. The punishment for someone actually performing voter fraud is very severe too. Voter intimidation and suppression are far more effective tactics that the Republicans typically resort to using. IMO, if either political party can't win on it's platform or merits, it deserves to lose an election, period. That applies to both the Dems and the Repubs.

Now if someone wants to make a case for actual documented voter fraud, many of the electronic voting systems that a lot of states and counties currently have in use actually had documented cases of errors and vote flipping during the 2012 election.

As of the 2016 election, many states still don't have a verifiable paper trail for their voting machines either.
