That's how I feel anyway. It's possible we could find some use for it in the future.

nah, whats the point? We should all just grab the 1.5 patch as it is and be done with it. In any other community, they would have been all over that years ago. We're only kidding ourselves if we believe it'll ever get finished. Besides, if he does finish it, I'm sure he can change the version number to 1.6 or something.

Hell, I'll even host the file, in fact I'll put it up tonight, hows that?

I mean really, whats stopping us? Some overwhelming sense that its wrong to use it because it was never officially released? Phht. Why didn't the community pick up reverse engineering it yet? Afraid of breaking the eula? Phht. PXO is gone, Interplay is practically gone, Outrage is gone - They'll never release the source, they'll never release the patch, because there isn't anyone left to do it. Its high time the community took matters into its own hands.

Because it will break Mac and Linux support obviously, even though they can only play on half the levels already because of the checksum bug.

Why not just stay at 1.4 and for those who want to run under Linux, run under http://www.winehq.org/ (now officially in beta)?

I found the latest and greatest wine revisions run Descent3 better than I could have hoped for.

Why are you people so in love with the 1.5 patch? The net code is exactly the same as 1.4.

Our Kind KB has spoken... I agree!

I'd like to see NEW development on a Descent-like game soon.
