Specs on a home computer

Post by thewolfe »

A friend has asked me to recommended a new laptop for him. He doesn't do gaming or video editing.......

I was thinking of at least a core i5, 8 GB of Ram and at least 1 TB of HD.

Screen size will depend on if it's going to be his main computer.

OS most likely Win 8.

What say you?

Then practically any off the shelf PC would be good enough. Only needs a dual core, 8 GB of RAM would hold out a bit longer but it could work smoothly on 4 GB for a few years yet. Look at how much disk space he is currently using before you decide how big of a drive he needs, and get him a SSD if at all possible.
