7) If you drive a stick, practice clutch-only starts. Don't use the gas until after the car has started rolling. (Lots of people seem to have a habit of revving the engine up slightly because they think it'll die if they don't. It won't--just be gentle. Usually it's a pretty harmless misconception, but it can cause a more agressive start than you want on a slickery surface.)
