Selling My Computer..

Post by TOR_LordRaven »

I am going to sell off one of my Computers... just trying to get an idea of what fair market value would be..

ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe Motherboard
- 2 PCIe x16 SLI Slots
- Dual Gigabit LAN
- onBoard WiFi

AMD Athlon 64 X2 @ 3.0ghz (Upgradeable to Phenom II X4 @ 3.0ghz)
CoolerMaster CPU Cooler (At Load temps are just above ambient room temps)

3GB DDR2, DualChannel PC6400 Ram (max at 8GB)
XFX GeForce 9800 GTX+ (512mb) Video Card
250gb Western Digital HD
Cooler Master 4-in-3 Bay Accessory (Direct cooling for Hard Drives)

Apevia X-Gear MidTower
One 120mm Exhaust,
Four 80mm Fans - 3 intake, 1 exhaust at top

500 watt PSU

Windows XP 64bit Edition Included
19inch Acer WideScreen Monitor

I was thinking $450 to $550
Any thoughts?

I don't know where you are, but I came across this "gaming machine wanted" ad on Denver Craigslist today. He's offering ~$400 for the rig only, no monitor.

Posted the machine on CraigsList.

I got a guy who wants to buy it, but im being cautious as ive never used Cragslist to sell something..

His latest e-mail to me:
Thanks for the response, i will send a certified draft which is
generally acceptable to cover the cost as am completely satisfied
with it.I will need the details of whom & where to mail the payment
1.Name to be on the check
2.Home address
3.Mobile phone number
Please note United Parcel Service do not deliver to P.O Box.My mover
will pick up right after the payment as been delivered.Kindly delete
the posting as am committed to buying it.I recently move here on a job
transfer and it's a great buy.

My concerns: His sentence structure is all jacked. And a "Certified Draft" - is that a Cashiers Check? Im not sure about this guy...

They also left a Number: 765-523-2844
When i google that, its evidently a scammer who trolls CraigsList.

Will not be giving them my info!

I say respond to it, and give him the address and phone number of the local police station. Or if you have any friends who are police, you can give him there address.
