Headphones sound

Post by woodchip »

Have a pair of logitech speakers and when I plug the headphones into them, the volume control on the speaker control unit would also control the volume on the headphones. Now when I plug the headphones in the volume control does not control sound to the headphones. Sound is now on high and makes using the headphones not so very good. I checked both sounds and the sound card settings but I don't see anything obvious to cause this. Any ideas?

Probably a short in the speakers.

Tested on another set of speakers and volume control there worked just fine with the headphones. Speakers in this case are on another computor.

Congratulations... you ruled out equipment that never had problems.

The set of speakers from your first post has a short. So its probably near the headphone jack, because it doesn't work when the headphones are plugged in.
