Notes on making level exit sequences in descent 2

Post by Xfing »

After some testing today, I've noticed the following:

1) rotating only the first cube of the exit tunnel on its own clockwise will reverse the direction of the 180 degree rotation from clockwise to counter-clockwise, but it won't affect the ceiling's orientation, which will be the same as the last cube's
2) rotating only the last cube of the exit tunnel will do nothing
3) rotating the first and the last cube of the exit in an aligned fashion together will have their 4 side determine where the ceiling of the exit tunnel is
4) rotating the first and the last cubes in a misaligned fashion will have only the end cube's 4 side determine the ceiling of the tunnel. The 1st cube might determine the direction of the 180 degree rotation in this situation as well, not quite sure though
5) Descent 1 seems to only ever rotate the scene clockwise, while in D2 there will be a counter-clockwise rotation of 90 degrees instead of a clockwise one of 270 degrees. The 180 degree rotation is usually done clockwise, but the direction can be reversed by doing the trick from point 1
