Funny tasting ice

I just had a glass of ice water. I got the ice out of my freezers ice maker and used filtered water but the ice gave it a funny taste.

How old is the ice? That makes all the difference. Some ice makers dump ice into a bucket and just hold it there until it's dispensed.

As ice freezes it traps air in the cube. Since that air comes from the refrigerator it will pick up its odors too. Also, line your ice bucket with a non permeable plastic wrap.

Don't eat pink ice either. I've seen this stuff in the mountains in the summer. Nasty!
