Ok, I'm a late bloomer. I just played through Portal. And I have to say that the end credits are nearly the best part of the game. ... not that the game was bad, it's just the credits were extraordinarily entertaining. ^_^
For those who haven't played it, here it is on U-T00b: I'm still alive

don't worry. There aren't any spoilers.

(I listened to this all days at work..:P) That's just sad...and a bit twisted.

For the good of all of us... except the ones who are dead.

I've never played portal, and I STILL love those end credits.

I had to restart when my ex formated my PC before giving it to me when I left and haven't played much since. Never got passed level 18 I think or was it 16 anyways.

Here's a song where they took the words from the gameplay and edited them together.

Click on the link, for prolonged exposure to the 1500 mega watt appature science heavy duty super colliding super button, is not part of the test.

the ending of Portal made me so sad, I always rewrote it so that me and GlaDOS got along somehow.

But you still incinerated your companion cube! Yes, you burned it alive! How could you?!

BTW someone in the college of engineering & computer science at my university is clearly a Portal fan- the icon on their web page that leads to the "ECS portal" (where u login to access school resources) is the Aperture Science logo- look in the top left corner

When HL2 came out I was hoping for it to be closer to what Portal is. HL1 had more little puzzles in it. Now if only we could get a portal gun in descent...

There IS an easter egg that will allow you to spare your favorite cubic pink poke'ball. Pretty nifty too. :)

Ya, I have Orange Box. I need to play more games, I've just been too busy with life for the last several years.

I loved Portal. It was short, but a very fun game.

I got Orange Box for my 360 a few weeks ago and beat Portal yesterday. I found it much more enjoyable than I expected. Any game that makes you feel affection towards an inanimate cube is a winner in my book. And the credits were just awesome. Can't wait for more.

Eh... valve's sequels never seem as good as its originals.... Not that I wont buy every little thing they produce.

Portal was awesome - I too just recently got into it.
I beat it last week, then turned a friend on it and let him play.

The game changes the way you think about linear movement*, and its very interesting to see how other people would solve the problem.

Like on one level - he did it a way I didn't think of and was much simpler, but on another level, he made it difficult for himself.

But the fact that you can beat a level using different tactics is pretty cool.

Anyone try the bonus/more difficult maps?

*We were in WalMart the other day and needed to get across the store. i wanted to shoot the ceiling over the isle we needed then shoot the floor.

oh, it's real. There is also a room with clones in it as well. Not sure how to get to is though. There are several easter eggs that are built into the game. There is a way to get the companion cube at the end that will allow you to survive the blast at the end.

Not that it's even a fraction as good as the real thing, but have you ever played portal: the flash game?

ya know, i did try it. got through the first 4 levels but the controls kept tripping me up. Interesting idea for a side scroller.
