You also might like Stellarium. It even has a (red) night mode so you can take it out side on your laptop.

It's wicked cool when viewed in a custom dome (Digitalis maintains their own version for their specialized projectors.) One of the perks of working for an aerospace museum is that I get to play with such toys.

Reminds me of that software MS released similar to Google Earth, just for space. Can't recall the name...
