Release #2 today, with many new features, fixes and function.

Get it at the sourceforge page

As normal:
There are two parts two this game:
The container, an .exe and necessary .dll's for windows users to play the game. Once you have downloaded this once, the chance is that you will never need to download it again.

The other part is the data. This is the information files for the game, containing textures, sounds, maps and other such goodness. If you have blender then you will only need to download this, but if you don't want to get blender then you will have to get the container.
Note that Blender is cross-platform, so if you don't run windows you can still play it through blender. It will only work with blender versions 2.50-2.59. It will not run in blender 2.49 or less, and has a few errors in 2.60 and greater.

Features/Changes:
  • Mouse settings and autoleveling
  • Keymapper (to a point)
  • Enhanced weapon effects
  • Missile pickups
  • Improved AI
  • Stopped you escaping the level.....
and so on. Play it and see.
Some images:

Yeah, looks amazing ;)

Keep up the great work!.

Btw. which formats do you accept for your level maps ?

I found a way to convert Q3-engine maps to model format.
So, if you like I could create any nice map for this game.

You can see few of my Q3-engine related maps on my new
homepage: http://darth-arth.de/gallery/

Somethig like this would be fine for the game or not ?

Ooh goody. I would love that!
I'd just have to worry about the player flying off into the distance......

(I have an idea about that though)

Well I can import the following easily:
3DS
OBJ
DAE
X3D/VRML

and quite a few more (with a bit more difficulty though)

You can limit the flight hight, calling this "planet gravity", only with special hyperdrive engine and jump-gates you can travel between the worlds. Something like that ;)

Many games have some kind of warning, whan leaving the gameplay area. (Borderlands, Dead Island, Gothic, etc.)

You could use something like this:
"you are leaving the secure flight area. This may cause massive ship damage!"

In few games I saw there were monster, which attacked you, if you leaved the gameplay area.

You could use deadly guard robots ....

WE are dropping your ship to recover some documents from one of our military bases. Please stay within a few kilometers of the base, as the enemy have us surrounded by a massive invasion fleet. When you finished recovering the documents please remove all evidence of the base (ie blow it up)

How bout that?
