Vinyl Reality

Adorned with her fine crystal
Dropped along the way
Carried through her tribulation, her
Well of self-pity
She asks others to refill

Fine glass and silver, gold and pearls
Thrown before the Swine
Shows the world her greatness
And they unanimously agree
But behind her eyes of pearl and
Harlequin smile
A thousand hammers crush
A thousand skulls

The living Libra
Balancing an existence of self-created double standards
A twisting, circling hurricane of false impressions and self-validating
Morality
She lies awake, her belly full
But she claims to starve
And drinks deep from her Well

Through the weariness
And facade of extravagance
All she sees are
Fissures of lack in her thoughts
Cracks of emptiness in her
Mind
Expanding into a spider web of splintered thoughts
And fragmented
Reality

Her dreams are made of velvet
Her hopes are made of suede
Her future is made of leather
But in truth all her life
Is a cheap vinyl
Reality
