Ok my union has decided I'm the man to build and maintain a website for them. I know html5 and css3. The thing is they want me to bring them estimates of host cost and domain name cost. I have never looked into buying a domain name until today. Where is the best place to buy a domain name?

Hosting like what the DBB has costs about $5-9/mo depending on the length you purchase, includes one domain registration and you get unlimited subdomains on it (www., forums., mail., etc). And you can run almost any common/simple site on it, such as forum software like the DBB, blog software like wordpress, etc.

I use DirectNIC. Hosting starts at $9/month plus gives you access to cPanel.
