....this might give us a VERY interesting debate, with Sanders in the race.

About time. I'd heard stories on Fox News about him announcing this week. Thank God. Another choice besides Hillary. I think he'll be a good choice too. I like Bernie, but I don't think his socialist leanings will get him voted into the presidency. This country is just too spastic about anything socialistic, even if it's only about half the nation that goes batty at the mere sound of the word. Although I do see that he is garnering quite a large following at his rallies now and I'd vote for him if he was the only Dem choice. I don't think I could for vote for Hillary though. I really dislike her. However, if it came down to Trump verses Hillary, I'd have to choke on it and give her my vote.......{"gag"}

I think Bernie Sanders COULD win, as the GOP sinks further into the morass with Trump pulling 15% or more. That said, Bernie would win yet another 50.8% type victory, and give us more stagnation as the GOP would dig the heels in. Webb is the ONLY person I see that is capable of pulling in moderate conservatives and moderate liberals into a coalition, and kick the extremes to the curb. Until that happens, the nations general malaise persists.

Webb all the way. Seems like the most reasonable candidate. Not to far from center, no trust issues, and just enough personality to deliver a speech (which adds to the sense of honesty you get from him. He's definitely not a swindler).

my fears, vision are the lack of 'pizazz', which our society seems to dote upon, and Jim's lack of fire in speeches I've heard. Admittedly, he might have picked up a bit from when I heard him during his Senate run. I hope so, for all the reasons you cite, vision.

initial web buzz is stronger than I expected. So far, so good......a long road to travel. I'm glad to see that Webb decided to jump
into the race. I was one of many that had lost hope that he would, so very pleased to be wrong this time.

The speech delivery can be fixed. Even Obama who is considered a brilliant orator had help and improvements during his campaign. Webb just needs the right people around him (which is always the case).

Now if the mainstream press would give Webb some air time, instead of fawning over Clinton.

I see Hillary and Bernie and a few Republicans talking this weekend, but no Webb, yet. It's a plot I tell you. :P

Sadly none of the Dem. candidates have any real strengths to inspire anyone other than the liberal base.

Jim Webb is not about the liberal base, and moreover is looked upon VERY favorably by moderates and even some conservatives, as an alternative to Hillary, and the contents of the GOP clown car. If he does manage to get the nomination, he would hammer anyone in the GOP field by 20 percent. As it is, EVERY poll shows both Hillary and even Sanders beating every potential member of the GOP field, just not by so much. However, Woody, feel free to keep the blinders on and the delusions in place. Probably thought Romney was a shoo-in like Karl Rove did, huh?

Woody's really afraid that the Republicans will have to fight a strong, likeable, viable Dem candidate. He knows the Republican clown car is so full of losers and idiots, that they'll need to have someone polarizing like Hillary to run against, so's they can have a snowball's chance in Hell of winning in 2016.

Now if the damn mainstream press would give him some decent air time, like they've swooned over Clinton for all these months, Webb might just get some traction and name recognition.

You want clown car?:

The press was roped down by aides today at Hillary Clinton event in New Hampshire. Photos of the press corps following Clinton at a July 4 parade were shared today on Twitter and Snapchat.

http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/pre ... 84950.html

and lets tie (no pun intended) in:

Poll: 70 percent of Americans believe news media is intentionally biased

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/poll- ... le/2567583

So the photos of aides herding the press with ropes is a perfect symbol of the press reporting in favor of the Dems. Clown car indeed.

You are in a position unsuitable to complain about intentional media bias.

I'll have to admit, that looked pretty silly when I saw it on TV today. But right wing propaganda aside, the alternative was to have hordes of reporters swamp her like groupies and block her supporters from even getting to shake hands with her. Which proves woody's point. The mainstream press is so ga ga over Hillary, they must be biased in her favor or something.

Hillary has answered a grand total of 20 questions since declaring her candidacy, and one of those questions was " how do you like Iowa"
