Musicality (and whether or not you think there is any) aside, this guy plays fast. That's an 8-string.

Yeah, pretty slick if you can do that. But I was much more impressed by that Tommy Emmanuel guy posted earlier, with his Blues/Boogie solo on a country guitar. It was technically more varied, it was actually music and it was more in my own line of work Image

I have that video clip hosted <a href=http://tricord.cjb.net/stuff/boogie.wmv>here</a>.

You can't fool me! That's Michael Angelo! Image

The guy's fast, no doubt about that. Very fast. Do you think the video kept fading in and out because he can only play for so long before his hand gives up and dies?

There are more videos on his webpage, and with each one I watch, I am more and more convinced this guy is the offspring of an unholy matrimony between Yngwie malmsteen and Michael Angelo. Image Technically amazing, but lacking soul and emotion.

I second Scorch's opinion. The guy is a technical wizard but so what. It has no soul.

Ah I wish I could play the guitar. Worth learning, everyone here who knows it?

Extremely rewarding. Learn just three chords and you can play 1000's of tunes. And if you want to get better from there, it's like Descent - there's always room to improve.

That guy pales in comparison to that blues guy. Loud? Yes. Fast? Yes. Musical? No. Talent comes from the soul. Not the fingers.

Nah, he's a machine. He has a bunch of clips that are longer than that of non-stop shredding. It's all he does all day long anyway.

And, believe it or not, I thought some of it was pretty melodic. Most of the stuff he plays sounds computer generated with 0 feeling. He played some of this one pretty slowly.

Yep, definitely worth it. Just don't turn into a shredding robot like Rusty Cooley, Franceco Fareri, or some of those other guys. Image
<font face="Arial" size="3">I can be fast too</font>
Nah Tri, that's not fast, that's just cool. Something like Flight of the Bumblebee would be Fast.
