Just came to the startling realization today after seeing the Independence Day movie (again) over the holiday weekend! Anyone else besides me feeling old? :D

I'm also more than a little surprised the DBB is actually still around too - it's been getting harder to find things from the 90s/00s that ...

Asrale

Cool, thanks all. Going to be looking into various upgrade options.

Heh that's right, that was a long time ago! I was pretty young back then too, I'm in my mid 30s now.

Just bought this game the other day on Steam and love it!

However, I had to disable pretty much all of the advanced graphics effects to get a playable frame rate of about 40 fps. Which isn't terrible, but I'd like to be able to turn on at least a few of the effects and still get a playable frame ...

I just bought the Overload Deluxe Collection Bundle from Steam when I saw it was on sale. Just recently found out about the game, and HAD to try it as a longtime Descent fan! Love the game already and I can absolutely tell that the the original Descent team worked on it, which is awesome.

Btw, wow ...

Asrale

You'll want the item I linked second then. Designed specifically for Shure IEMs and it'll beat anything you can find at Radio Shack for sound quality.

I have a reasonably nice pair of in ear sound insulating ear buds for traveling or other loud environments. They mute out over 30 decibels from the outside, but no matter what I do on any device I try to use them on even at the lowest volume level available they are still too loud. Are there any ...

Asrale

original_jynx, yes that was recorded off the MIDI.

I've uploaded newer versions of the ones I did before here:

Asrale, I'm 99% sure that the guitar in game12 in the URL above is extremely close to being right, if not exactly right, so I'm curious if you wouldn't ...

I recorded the track for D2 level 02:

http://www.planetdescent.com/lyris/d2_level_02.asr (right-click & save)

Rename the extension to MP3. Let me know if this sounds like what you heard in-game. Recorded it straight off the MIDI ripped from the game using DTX2.

Asrale

As do I. ;)

I'll go ahead and start recording too. fliptw maybe you can do the FM version? I can do the wavetable version. I have unlimited space available on my GameSpy hosted site so space isn't a problem for me.

Btw, not to be the MIDI police or anything, but \"SoundFont\" refers to when ...

I recorded a few D1 tracks just like you described, more than 2 years ago. Here's the link:

Maybe one of these days I'll get off my lazy ass and record the rest. :P

Hmm, these sound different than the ones that Timidity generated. The core ...

WinZip and WinRAR are shoddily written pieces of software.

Those guys should learn D3Edit so we can get a D3-ized version of D1!

Alexa is not adware. Despite what anyone else tells you, it is not malicious, and like already said, is included with any fresh MS installation of Internet Explorer.

Also, Spy Sweeper kills the WinFixer adware, the trial version on the Web site should work.

I second sysinternals.com. Lots of awesome utils on there, especially Process Explorer (lets you view all running processes on your PC) and Rootkit Revealer (finds rootkits, pieces of code installed directly to disk and are not reported to Windows).

When it comes to shows not featuring space ships and interstellar travel, The Outer Limits pwns all. That show is just amazing, it beats down every other sci-fi TV show that's ever existed and will come in the future. I never caught the 50s series but the 90s one still blows me away.

The show's ...

A. Most subwoofers go up to 120 Hz. Above that is usually where the satellites pick up, and most "tweeters" start around 14-16 kHz.

B. The center speaker is for dialog, so whatever frequency range the human voice (male and female alike) falls into.

This thread is evidence that the DBB is the weirdest forum and attracts the most unusual types on the Internet.

Top, Begins is not a prequel to the Burton flicks. The director wanted to completely start over and ignore the previous movies.

Man the movie was so good I want to go back to see it again this coming weekend! Maybe once every weekend until it's out of theaters!

Asrale

thanks Krom!

Asrale

Anyone see it yet? I saw it last night! It kicked ass! It pwned me! It makes the previous Batman movies look like complete crap! It's the best movie about a superhero! It was so good, I was in shock the whole time! Director Chris Nolan pulled it off!

It really was excellent, and IMO it's the first ...

I'm not going to bother reading the whole thread so I'll just reply to the original point. But before I go on, I'd like to assert that a lengthy thread on any subject in the Bible isn't necessary; if it were that complicated for people to believe enough to be Christians, few would be Christian ...
